Set on 250 acres, Limerick Racecourse combines a rich history of horseracing with top-class modern facilities.  Whether you are a seasoned race-goer, or just curious, there are race meetings throughout the year to suit everyone’s taste, some of which are complete with live music and entertainment.

Limerick Racecourse is also home to a host of events throughout the year all of which make for an interesting day out.

Listowel Races

The Listowel Racecourse is located less than 50 miles away from Fanningstown Castle.  Like Limerick, it has a rich history of horseracing and a packed annual race calendar which includes its hugely popular annual September Race Festival.

Galway Races

If you happen to be staying at Fanningstown Castle in July, a must-visit race meeting is the world-famous Galway Races.  Less than a two-hour drive from Fanningstown Castle, the Galway Summer Festival includes a Ladies Day, family days and a fun ‘Mad Hatters’ competition.
